When The Lights Go Out

When The Lights Go Out
I’m not hurt
Or at least not the way
I use to be
I don’t think of you
When the lights go out

Don’t question your mistakes
My future is now predicated by destiny and fate
Your calls for my acquaintanceship
Came too little too late

I moved on from your misplaced incestuous transgressions
Making sexual advances in my direction
You betrayed me
How do you sleep at night?
Tossing and turning…
Because you conscience is eating away the inside

Thee other day you spoke to me on the phone
Like I owed you something
I forgave you to my own detriment
And I owe you nothing

I live a free and happy life
So if I choose to smile in private
Or in person
I’m not bluffing

You running around acting like
I should be stuck
You’re the one with the issues
You’re the one that messed up
While you was out lying to me
About your activities in the streets

That’s why I’m not hurt
Or at least not the way
I use to be
I don’t think of you
When the lights go out

Love always, Esha ❤
